The apple tree on Effra Parade just by the childrens’ playground is laden with fruit, ripe for picking. If we don’t eat them, they will just end up a squidgy mush on the floor.
Recipe tip: combine with the early blackberries on offer in Brockwell park, for example near the Brixton Water Lane entrance, and presto, you’ve got yourself some Effra Crumble.
