Jubilee picnic at The Brix?

This is an archived story. See here for latest on the Brixton jubilee party

The Brix at St Matthews – the charitable company that owns that massive building in the middle of the Brixton one-way system – has invited local residents to a meeting tonight, Monday, 27th February at 7pm, to discuss holding a Diamond Jubilee Picnic right in the heart of Brixton in their grounds.

In a leaflet to publicise the meeting, The Brix writes: “The summer of 2012 is going to be one of the most exciting in London for many years. As part of the celebrations for HM the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Brix at St Matthews is considering organising a community picnic for local residents in the Peace Garden beside The Brix. The event would occur on the Jubilee long weekend in early June 2012”
