Brixton celebrates jubilee despite rain

Rain on Monday did not stop Brixton’s jubilee celebrations, even if spiderman (pictured) got a bit tired and emotional. The Brix at St Matthew’s – the building in the centre of the roundabout – brought its picnic inside and around 150 people from the local community came along, according to the organisers.

When things brightened up a bit, there was still time for some fun outside – the children played egg and spoon races, three-legged races and hula hooping in the Peace garden outside the building.
