Cllr Jennifer Brathwaite Street Champion visit on Sat 24 Oct

Councillor Jennifer Brathwaite, Cabinet Member for Environment & Sustainability, is spending Saturday 24 October touring the Street Champions initiative. At 1200 she will be at 12:00pm Mervan Road, at the junction with Rattray Road.

Please do go along and talk to her about any of your concerns. Dumped rubbish seems to be a big problem at the moment.

  1. Interesting David, thanks for the heads up. I share the concern mentioned about the fly-tipping, which all of a sudden for the first time in at least 10 years is becoming a frequent occurrence on the corner of Bankton and Talma. I know the council has been slashing spending on rubbish (and all) services, but it does seem a shame that after so long with a policy that “trained” everyone into expecting that all street rubbish gets automatically collected within hours to then completely reverse it overnight. Unfortunately I won’t be around that day to be able to talk to Councillor Brathwaite, but hopefully other residents will be around to raise that point and request that at least they prepare a strategy for addressing the resultant rise in fly-tipping.
