Black History Month Hip Hop and latest Jamaican novel at Brixton Tate library

This weekend sees a wide range of activities for locals for Black History Month sees on Friday 7th :’What Hip Hop means to me’ at  7pm and on  Saturday  8th Young est signed author to Faber 19 year old Nigerian writer 12pm-1.30pm and later same evening, Kei Miller  a Forward prize winner discusses his latest novel  ‘Augustown’ set in Jamaica.

There are events in other venues through the month including Black Cultural Archives and of course for those among you f a more protesting variety a ‘Stand Up To Lambeth’ March on Saturday from Windrush Square 12pm to Clapham Common with a family picnic thrown in.

and celebrating women of Lambeth : ‘Its your local Market’ hosts an event at Max Roach park also that afternoon from 1pm
