Local groups will be showcasing project proposals on 28th June at Pop Brixton 6.45pm-8pmauditorium (check put website for event details and booking tickets.)
You are invited to the following events:
The money sticks to Brixton. Now the art does too. One night only 50% off local sale to raise funds for Brixton projects.
First announced on David Bowie’s official website and with only 250 available, our limited edition print wasted no time in being scooped up by collectors all over the world – the first one even sold at auction for over $1,500!
However while selling online and running to the post office has its advantages, we have a soft-spot for the old fashioned way and even better when it’s bringing people together in one of our favourite spots in Bowie’s hometown.
That’s why for one night only, we’re releasing 30 limited prints for sale, exclusively in Brixton, at just £300* – a one-time only 50% discount from the standard price of £600 per print. And we figured such an event deserves a bit of a party.
It’s a chance to grab a unique piece of art (the first ever printed on money grade paper, no less) and feel good in the process – proceeds from the sale are going into our fund, which grants money to local community projects in Brixton.
Alongside a live DJ there’ll be drinks and our friends at Agile Rabbit serving up ‘Ziggizzas’.
Space is limited so we are asking that people pre-register on Eventbrite. In addition to a complementary drink, you can also make sure you’re one of the 30 to secure a print by placing a pre-order – just select the option available when registering and you’ll be asked to pay a deposit of £30. Prints come unframed but framing options and advice will be available on the night.
Pre-orders are already selling so if you want to guarantee one at this price, place a pre-order soon.
We hope to see you there to help us celebrate the man who fell to earth and the ongoing spirit of the Brixton community.
We hope you can make it!
The Brixton Pound
*We ask that you pay the balance on the night – we accept cards, cash, and of course Brixton Pounds! If you want some flexibility we’d be happy to chat about installment payments too. Either ask on the night, or email email@example.com to discuss more.
**Following the Studio73 event, we will be at the Urban Art Fair on the weekend of 8/9 July where another small batch of prints will be available for £450. After that it’s back to the RRP so we recommend taking advantage of this while you can!
Can’t wait until 6 July? Order a full-price print online or pick one up at our cafe.
And here’s the technical blurb

Image area: 247 x 235 mm
Paper size: A3 (420 x 297 mm)
Edition of 300
Titled, numbered, and blindstamped by This Ain’t Rock’n’Roll; accompanied by certificate of authenticity
The edition of 300 – of which 250 are offered for sale – went into production in December 2015, with David Bowie’s approval.
The print has been produced by the note’s designers, This Ain’t Rock’n’Roll, together with Orion Security Print, the company responsible for printing the Brixton Pound notes.
The print is produced on the same diamond-patterned security paper as the circulation notes, and features several of their original features such as orange fluorescent ink and die-cut metallic & holographic foiling.
Both sides of the note are displayed, featuring Duffy’s iconic photograph of David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust guise from the cover of Aladdin Sane, as well as a detail from the Nuclear Dawn mural on Brixton’s Coldharbour Lane.
Each print is titled ( –2016) in pencil, individually numbered in both black and metallic ink, and blind-stamped by the designers. The print will also be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Brixton Pound.
